Zomi Region in Myanmar
The
Zomi or Zo people (‘mi’ means people) have long inhabited the mountainous areas
between India and Myanmar(Burma) for centuries.
In
Myanmar, the Zo people occupy the whole of Chin State and Kalay, Tamu and
Khampat townships in Sagaing division.
Some live in the Manipur and Mizoram States in
India. Others are scattered all around the world in There is an estimated
150,000 Zomi people in Burma. About 80,000 reside in the countries such as USA,
Canada, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, New Zealand and Australia
